Permanent roles

Your CV should never arrive somewhere you did not agree to.

It is a low bar, and the industry regularly fails to clear it. Everything else on this page follows from taking it seriously.

Most people looking for a permanent role in care are not chasing a title. They want reasonable hours, a manager who is present, and a service they are not embarrassed to work in.

How your search runs

Seven points where this usually goes wrong.

  1. First

A conversation about what you actually want

Not just the job title. Hours that work with your life, the kind of service you want to be in, whether you want progression or stability, and what made you start looking.

  2. Then

We tell you what is realistic

Including when it is not. If the salary you need is above what the roles we have pay, you will hear that in the first conversation rather than after three interviews.

  3. Next

We only put you forward with your agreement

Every time, for every employer, named in advance. Your details are never sent anywhere speculatively, and never to your current employer.

  4. Before

You are prepared for the interview properly

Who you are meeting, what the service is like, what they are likely to ask, and what you should be asking them. Interviews run both ways.

  5. After

    You get real feedback

Including when it is a no. Vague silence after an interview is one of the worst parts of job hunting and it is entirely avoidable.

  6. Offer

We are straight about the offer

The full terms, not just the headline rate. Pension, shift patterns, unsocial hours, probation, progression. We will tell you if we think you should negotiate, and if we think you should decline.

  7. Later

We check in once you have started

A placement that ends badly at three months is not a success. We would rather know early if something is not as described.

Your information

Your search is yours.

Confidentiality is not a courtesy in a job search. Getting it wrong can cost someone their current job.

Nothing sent without your agreement
We name the employer, you decide. Every time, with no exceptions.
No speculative CV distribution
Your details are not circulated to build our client list.
No contact with your current employer
Not for references, not for anything, until you tell us we can.
We ask for what we need, and no more
We do not ask for health information or medical history to register you. Where a genuine occupational health requirement exists, that is handled by the employer at the right stage.

Common questions

Fees, confidentiality and feedback.

Does it cost me anything?

No. Candidates are never charged a fee for finding work through us. If any agency asks you to pay to be found work, that is a serious warning sign.

Will my current employer find out?

Not from us. We never send your details to an employer without naming them to you first and getting your agreement. We will not approach your current employer, and we will not discuss your search with anyone who does not need to know.

What if I am not sure I want to leave?

That is a perfectly reasonable position and it is a good reason to talk rather than a reason not to. Sometimes the useful outcome of a conversation is deciding to stay where you are for now.

Do you have roles right now?

What we are working on changes constantly, so we do not publish a list that would be out of date within a fortnight. Register and tell us what you are looking for, and we will tell you what we genuinely have and what we expect.

Will you tell me the salary before I apply?

Yes. You will know the salary or range, the hours and the shift pattern before you are put forward. Being taken through a process without knowing the pay wastes your time.

What if the job turns out not to be as described?

Tell us. We want to know, because it affects whether we work with that employer again. Where we can help sort it out, we will.

Register

Start with a conversation, not an application.

Register, tell us roughly what you are after, and we will call you. If we cannot help, we will say so and tell you why.
